Mama and Baby

Someone was testing the consistency of the mud, and decided that it wasn't a good idea to go too far. You can see the baby tracks indicating that the kitten was a bit more adventurous. The large paw was about an inch and a half across, so this was no house cat.
They might have decided to chase the hare instead of the birds.
